Garpenberg Castle
(Called by many the Manor)
If you are coming FROM THE SOUTH, e.g. Stockholm, take the route via Enköping towards Sala. Continue on road 70 towards Mora. About 2 km before Avesta, take road 68 towards Gävle. After about 13 km, turn left and drive through the village of Fors. In the village, the road signs begin to indicate Garpenberg. After Fors, it is about 10 km to the village of Herrgården. (The castle is about 4 km before Garpenberg's community.)
If you are coming FROM THE SOUTH via Örebro, take route 60 to Lindesberg. From Lindesberg follow road 68 past Fagersta and Avesta. After about 13 km, turn left and drive through the village of Fors. In the village, the road signs begin to indicate Garpenberg. After Fors, it is about 10 km to the village of Herrgården. (The castle is about 4 km before Garpenberg's community.)
If you are coming from the NORTH, drive all the way to Hedemora. At the second roundabout, turn left towards GARPENBERG/LÅNGSHYTTAN. After about 5 km you will see a sign for Garpenberg on the right, continue through Garpenberg village towards the village of Herrgården, about 3 km. There you will find the castle.
